It is not known what first created and enchanted pumpkin or why, but it is known that they appear on the tenth year of the Malladian cycle. These walking fruits are often seen wandering through the streets at night, sometimes with a lit candle a child has placed inside of it for fun. They feel no pain or hunger, and often a few days after the tenth year they all have disappeared, either succumbing to rot or wild animals. In captivity they are kept perfectly fine, but it is unsure of whether the next cycle's batch are from a poor farmer's field or other worldly.
