General Information
Static dragons are often found in the wakes of areas just stricken by thunderstorms, often digging at the ground where lighting has stuck. It is not known why they do this, but it is hypothesized that this is how they get the orbs they value so much, that allow them to channel their static ability through them to the air. They are formidable in battle, and encountering one that is mad is sure to end in a very costly loss, unless you have a soil dragon. They can use their power to temporarily parilize animals and prey, and in battle this is extremely devastating to any flying dragon. Their eggs are often found in the remains of a lightning stricken tree, and an orb is always stuck to it by static electricity, which prevents it from being removed by even the strongest of means.
In terms of looks, it is unknown if static dragons should fall into the proto dragon classification or into their own class of multi-limbed creatures, much like how splits have their own for bearing multiple heads. Although they are able to breed with drakes normally, it is not unheard of to find a static dragon in the wild successfully courting a dragon. These draco are more than content with whatever label they are given, so long as they are properly fed and cared for either way.

This egg shocks you when you touch it, and it has a small gem plastered to the side by some unknown force.
A static dragon egg can only be separated from its orb by a strong, strong counter magic- which has to be a combined mix of fire and stone; or the death, rot, or possession of the egg. Once separated from its orb, the egg will turn into a sickly shade and the orb will itself turn into a dust, becoming a powder with a valuable use in alchemy. This power allows for a mage to call upon and channel the forbidden magic of lightning itself. Thankfully, the combination of fire and nature magic has only been recorded possible by the high "dragons" themselves.
Baby Information
This small hatchling has a confusing amount of appendages. It also seems to be able to summon lightning from the orb that was attached to its egg. No matter how hard you try to get the hatchling to surrender its orb, it seems stuck to the dragon.
A static hatchling is a strange looking creature, with its multiple legs and lack of wings. These hatchlings, though, pack a strong punch, able to powerfully equip their orb as a tool of magic and can easily stun an adult red dragon, if only for a second. If a hatchling was able to lose its orb, it would also render into that same sickly color and become a highly depressed creature. Thankfully, the hatchling is aware of this weakness, and charges itself with the opposite static charge of the orb it has been given.
Teen Information
This small hatchling has a confusing amount of appendages. It also seems to be able to summon lightning from the orb that was attached to its egg. No matter how hard you try to get the hatchling to surrender its orb, it seems stuck to the dragon. Your hatchling has grown and none of its appendages seem to be wings. It also seems to have begun to master its lightning skill and often tries to fry your timber dragons for bothering it.
As a static dragon grows, it will become more adept with its lightning prowess. The strengthening of this power is seen as a "coming of age", and marks when a hatchling should be let out to take care of its own. These hatchlings often congregate in the desert regions of the veil and have been known to have lightning matches against each other to strengthen their skills and also defend their territory. If left in the castle, these hatchlings will gladly fry any other creature that you give affection towards.
Adult Information
This dragon is about the size of one of your quilins, but it has an incredible power. It is able to summon lightning or harness it from storms for its attacks, and as it ages it has become more adept at utilizing it. It often can be seen with the orb it had as a hatchling, and channeling lightning through it at an object for practice. Many of your other dragons stay away from it for fear they may be hit by a stray bolt.
A static dragon is a hard and capricious beast to tame, and as such these dragons are rarely seen on the castle grounds, though mages gladly bring their eggs to the premises for others to learn the challenge of caring for these formidable hatchlings. It is not uncommon to travel to the desert section that these creatures roam and find a strange, blue glass that seems to hold lightning within it. This glass is able to channel light trough it in such a way that one can see the original lightning that once struck the sand. The strange symbol that this glass throws is an easy way to identify a static, as each one throws an unique marking.
