General Information
Sprite midges are said to each embody an elemental power, and often a mage will collect the respective sprite that their magic mirrors. Sprite midges are creative and will often find unique ways to use their magic, so mages who keep these dragons are often at an advantage from studying and observing the strange solutions these tiny creatures find. A mage without a sprite midge is often either a master or a beginner, as many teachers will even require a sprite midge for class.
While there are eight clans, there are (unless Aszerath is hiding something) only seven types of elemental sprite midges. Dark Clan members will, if they take on a sprite midge at all, either adopt one from their previous clan or try to get by with a firesprite, which at least looks vaguely dark-oriented.

This brown egg is quite small compared to the others.
Sprite midge eggs are quite sturdy, though their small size would suggest otherwise. While they benefit from a well-cushioned nest, they will not shatter if scowled at.
Baby Information
This tiny, brown hatchling is prone to using its powers to control and levitate rocks, or turn sand into quicksand or rocks into soil. It often tests these powers on plants, and you have to constantly fix uprooted ones in your garden because of it.
Trying to teach a stonesprite hatchling to tell a weed from a useful plant is largely an exercise in frustration, as they will uproot any plant that catches their attention. Building a sandbox or small rock garden for them to play in is a much better use of time, especially if one can furnish it with artificial plants.
Teen Information
This tiny, brown hatchling is prone to using its powers to control and levitate rocks, or turn sand into quicksand or rocks into soil. It often tests these powers on plants, and you have to constantly fix uprooted ones in your garden because of it. Its grown now and a pair of wings adorn its back. It still loves to control dirt and has gotten better.
This is the age when stonesprites start to get a taste for construction. Creative ones will build a rock castle. Truly ambitious ones will build a whole city. They don't seem to mind if their hard work gets destroyed, making them natural playmates for other sprite midges and anything else that wants to terrorize a small toy city.
Adult Information
Your hatchling has grown and although it is able to fly, it often prefers to use its powers to build burrows underground. It now is willing to help you plant in otherwise unbreakable soil, and if a dragon or other creature attempts to go near you with ill intent, it is prone to throwing a large glob of dirt to deflect its attention. It is willing to protect you from most harm and you have been saved a nasty bite by its actions more than once.
Stonesprites make excellent bodyguards, despite their small size. Even moderately-sized demons will be hindered if dropped into quicksand. Some mages recruit teams of stonesprites for construction work as well, though they are best suited for small structures that don't need to support a lot of weight. Stonesprites truly excel as gardeners, though, able to turn even clay into something that can nurture seeds.
