General Information
Sprite midges are said to each embody an elemental power, and often a mage will collect the respective sprite that their magic mirrors. Sprite midges are creative and will often find unique ways to use their magic, so mages who keep these dragons are often at an advantage from studying and observing the strange solutions these tiny creatures find. A mage without a sprite midge is often either a master or a beginner, as many teachers will even require a sprite midge for class.
While there are eight clans, there are (unless Aszerath is hiding something) only seven types of elemental sprite midges. Dark Clan members will, if they take on a sprite midge at all, either adopt one from their previous clan or try to get by with a firesprite, which at least looks vaguely dark-oriented.

This dark green egg is quite small compared to the others.
Sprite midge eggs are quite sturdy, though their small size would suggest otherwise. While they benefit from a well-cushioned nest, they will not shatter if scowled at.
Baby Information

This tiny, dark green hatchling doesn't seem to have any powers. It smells like plants though, and its body feels much like organic matter.
Lifesprite hatchlings seem at first to be more closely plant-affiliated, leading some novice mages to wonder if they scooped up the wrong green egg from the Creche. The key difference is that lifesprites lack plant-based magic. Young lifesprites are shy and prone to hiding when they feel threatened, though at this age they still tend to believe they are hidden if they can't see what's threatening them, even if the rest of their body is still plainly visible. They can shapeshift, but tend to get distracted midway through the process.
Teen Information

This tiny, dark green hatchling doesn't seem to have any powers. It smells like plants though, and its body feels much like organic matter. Its grown a bit more now and it now sports a pair of wings and a stinging tail spine. It also seems to possess a strange magic, and it has the ability to shift form if it so sees fit.
A lifesprite hatchling's tail spike is painful, but not particularly dangerous to anything human-sized. They will sting as a warning, but prefer to shapeshift to escape from an unpleasant situation. They remain equal parts feisty and shy, hissing at a threat before vanishing from view. Lifesprites will tolerate most creatures, but prefer creatures large enough to ride on. A particularly tolerant charger may find itself with a dozen small lifesprite passengers.
Adult Information

Your hatchling has grown now and it uses its tail to catch prey or scare off other predators. Its composition of plant often will attract other dragons to its location, in hopes that they can eat a meal, where it will try to catch them for its own food. It is quite feisty and able to hide itself or change its form to better fit its evnironment, though you have not seen it take the form of any of your other creatures.
Though occasionally prone to mischief, grown lifesprites will most often use their powers for more benign purposes. Those that are particularly close to their mage will sometime initiate a game of hide-and-seek. When it's their turn to seek, they will obligingly close their eyes and wait for the chime of a timer spell. Lifesprites are quick to come to the defense of their mage, stinging a threat and vanishing before it has a chance to react.
