The Dioptase Gembeast

General Information

Recently the discovered remains of extinct monsters once slain by the Seven were found deep within the West-North caves, and over time, with the influence of the darkness and crystals around them, they were reanimated. Certain gems embedded themselves into the bodies and resurrected these dangerous beasts, their life source eternally contained in the minerals they bonded with. These creatures are now being discovered in different parts of the lands, with each specific mineral affecting their power, location, and ferocity.

A young, unfamiliar creature crawls out of the egg. You are unable tell what it is, but your eyes are caught on the translucent, blue gems formed on its body.

A young, unfamiliar creature crawls out of the egg. You are unable tell what it is, but your eyes are caught on the translucent, blue gems formed on its body. Your hatchling has grown some, and it now has two visible gem crests that have formed on its head and is now curling around what appears to be the same gems that it possesses. It seems to be absorbing power from the gems.

Adult Information

Dioptase gembeasts are not a large breed. They are around the size of a human, and have a unique personality, that allows them to be, unlike most gembeasts, great indoor companions. Dioptase gembeasts have two crests on the top of their heads, which are incredibly strong, being made from the crystals that make up their cavernous homes. They hunt small prey, but are not beneath scavenging a kill from a larger predator.They are not considered dangerous to mages or common villagers, but can be a threat to livestock and pets if a wild one is left to its own.
