The Reples Turtle

General Information

Reples turtles are fairly giant, and the large rock formations on their backs lend them a powerful and heavy stance- allowing for them to withstand most hits from enemies while they hide safely inside of their shell. As such, they are usually used as guardians for entrances into castles, in conjunction with red dragons, which makes for an incredibly powerful offense and defense team. Even so, it seems that these turtles have all but disappeared within the last decades, and the only new stories of them have come from mages trying to describe the beasts they see surrounding the high gates outside of the castle where the Seven are said to converge.

Reples turtles make good listeners, taking in even long rants from their mage without any sign of boredom. They also tend to get along well with other creatures, which is just as well, given their size. A sunbathing reples turtle will soon wind up covered in sprite midges, shinks, and anything else looking to enjoy a little extra warmth.

Reples turtles are most notable for their unusual origins. Otherwise, they make very dull companions, hardly ever moving even when bothered by other creatures. They do have the advantage of being easy to care for, at least, as they are not picky eaters and eat far less than one would expect given their size.
