Can chickens be shiny?

Hello! I noticed that it is impossible to use potions on chickens.
So I would like to know if this is a bug or is it supposed to be like this?

Is it possible to get shiny chickens by breeding?

I don't think any of the creatures done by Mysfytt (or Tekla) can be shiny. I suspect it's something to do with them not wanting their sprites to be altered by anyone except themselves, though I could be wrong.
Need site currency? Playing with my hundreds of companions here can earn you a decent amount of both blue stones and reactor stones. Companions may be played with once per hour (total, not per user). If nothing shows up, check back later.

Still on AO3 here - Forest of Mirrors, Dragon Cave, MagiStream, Jelle's Marble Runs, and original fiction.
